Telescope focus was significantly better tonight! Only spent roughly 10 minutes focusing every few hours.

focus would stay good for a long while but after an hour or two I would need to refocus and that can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30, usually the latter. Had a really hard time getting the telescope to stay focused.

Student lab projects, galaxies. Focus was 447000 except when it flopped to 330000; spent as much as 45 minutes refocussing several times. Tried QSI guide camera, no joy in getting exposures.

Intermittent RA tracking issues during exposures. Could not find a pattern when they occurred (e.g., not a function of hour angle). Tried toggling tracking, but didn't seem to help. Affected short (~10 s) and long exposures. However, ~2/3 of exposures appeared to have pretty good tracking. Program: Diffuse H II regions around subdwarfs (imaging followup from WHAM survey detections).

Relatively consistent tracking issues in East-West direction for exposures longer than a minute

Blazar microvariability Focus took off mid series on Bllac. Focused, the watched it with 60s sec exposures for about 2 hours, then all of a sudden doughnuts stares coming down? Refocused and it was a totally different number (457024 originally, when refocused, it was 438699). Focus behaved the rest of the night. BL LAc images started trailing about 1 hour after transit. Noticed RA track rate was set to 15.003, so reset 15.00 for next object, great images after that. Was unable to find a star in autoguider CCD.

Shake Down run after long pandemic shutdown. QSI guide camera won't expose or stay connected to Maxim. Main telescope focus continues to have stability issue, non-repeatable encoder reading problem as had prior to shutdown.

Spectra of Massive Magnetic Stars and Colliding Wind Binaries Main telescope focus still unstable, found 465000 for star on fiber plate. Pointing and tracking were nominal with average seeing.
